Weddings

When embarking on marriage or a civil union, the ceremony is a key part of what is a very special day. What takes place at the ceremony  shows clearly the love you have for each other and why you wish to spend your life together. It is a time of fun from the planning of the ceremony to the day.

There are numerous types of ceremonies and so there are many different options for each couple. You may wish to have a very traditional wedding. It may be that you have a an intimate group or a large and very festive wedding. Some wish to have a church wedding or hold it in a venue that reflects the character of the couple. Be it inside, outside, small or large, traditional or totally unconventional, I am open to planning this ceremony with you – it is a team effort.

We will meet a few months before the date so that I can get to know you and understand exactly what you would like. You may have lots of ideas or none but together we can work this out. I tend to listen a lot first and learn about you as a couple. Once we have explored various options, I will go away and begin writing your ceremony.

At all times, I share this with you so that you can edit it, make changes or discuss various aspects – it is your day and I want it to be perfect for you.

I will be at the wedding/civil union rehearsal and of course on your wedding day to ensure everything runs smoothly. I take care of the legal requirements for you.

Most of all, I look forward to having fun with the couple throughout the process and especially on the day.

Because couples have different ideas in mind I offer a number of different options.

Option 1: I provide a standard wedding that would be in place of a registry office wedding/civil union. This would be a shorter ceremony involving the exchange of vows and rings.

Option 2: This is a variation on the standard wedding in that you are able to provide your own vows and words as you exchange rings. You may wish to add a few other personal things such as a reading or musical performance.

Option 3: This is ceremony that is uniquely yours. I write it based on your stories, your ideas and your desires for the day. I provide help in choosing readings or poems and can also help with the writing of vows.

Please note that for all ceremonies, I include a rehearsal.

I also provide you with a copy of the ceremony as a keepsake.
